Account and membership

An account keeps your room, your games and your colours, and signs the games you publish. Signing in is free; the membership is optional.

The sign-in card offers three ways:

  • Email me a code. A six-digit code arrives at the address you type, and works for five minutes. An address receives at most 3 codes in 10 minutes and 10 in a day.
  • Continue with Google.
  • Continue with GitHub.

The first sign-in with an address makes the account. Google or GitHub with the same address reach the same account. Continuing means you agree to the Terms; the Privacy Policy says how your information is handled. When the Terms change in a way that matters to you, you are told 30 days ahead and the room asks you once to agree to the new version. Smaller changes, prices and offers do not ask.

#Guests

Look around as a guest opens the room without an account. A guest sees the shelf, the TV and the laptop; playing a game on a device and making one ask you to sign in. Signing in from the guest's account menu keeps the room and its games under the new account. Leave ends a guest's visit.

#Your handle

Your games are signed with your handle, as in By docs-writer. A new account gets one such as pocket-xtpjs9b0; change it under Change your handle in the account menu, or with pocket-studio handle <name>. A handle is 3 to 24 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens.

#The membership

  • Game packages to install on your own device
  • Your games on Pocket TV and in search
  • Every device colour, and a palette to mix your own
  • Small games made here by our AI, coming soon
  • More rooms, coming soon
  • Play between devices, coming soon

The membership costs $7.99 a month, or $59.88 once a year; in Japan, ¥1,280 a month or ¥9,800 once a year, tax included. Become a member in the account menu shows the plans; Continue to payment opens the payment page.

  • Who sells it. Outside mainland China the membership is sold through Link, a service of Stripe, which is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, collects the tax that applies where you are and sends the receipt. Your card statement shows LINK.COM and our name. In mainland China, Pocket Nexus sells it, and Stripe takes the payment. In a few other countries the membership cannot be bought. Pocket Nexus never sees your card number.
  • Renewal. It renews for the same period until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. Manage membership in the account menu opens the billing page, where you cancel. The membership then lasts to the end of the period you paid for.
  • When it ends, your published games and their links stay. Games that only your membership put on Pocket TV and in search leave both, your devices return to the free colours, and the packages you downloaded stay with you.
  • A payment you believe was taken in error: write to support@pocket.nexus.

#Offers

Pocket Nexus sometimes gives a membership without a payment, for some days or for life. Such an offer has its own link, /studio/?offer=<id>. The page says what it gives and asks either for the code you were given or for a GitHub account on the offer's list, linked to your Pocket Studio account; then Claim it. An offer is claimed for one account.

#Colours and rooms

The Closet holds a colour for each device. Each device has a dark and a light colour for everyone; every other colour, and a palette to mix your own, come with the membership. More rooms are coming.

#Your data

The Privacy Policy says what the Studio keeps and why. To get a copy of the information about your account, to correct it, or to delete your account and its contents, write to support@pocket.nexus from the account's email address: there is no button for this yet.

#Language

The switch at the foot of the account menu, and in the footer of every page, chooses English or Japanese. The Studio keeps the choice in a cookie on this browser. Sign-in mail and the payment page follow the room's language.
