Pocket Requiem is a crowd-battle action game for the PS Vita, the PSP and the Nintendo 3DS. At night, on a barren field two kilometres across, a mage meets the army a demon holds: 4,053 headless knights in 133 cohorts, on one field with no loading between them.
A strike of the staff chains up to five times, and a spell follows the strike it is cast after: a beam, a rising burst, lightning in a fan, fire ahead, a volley of ten bolts. A strike that lands holds the frame for a few ticks before anything moves again. With a full gauge she undoes the binding on every knight around her.
The army is compiled. Every knight's motion is stored in the game's pack as placed frames, and a console draws a knight as a blend of two of them, so a PS Vita shows up to 1,750 knights in a frame at 30 frames a second.
The browser version runs the same simulation and draws the PS Vita's pack with the PS Vita's passes. An autopilot plays until a button is pressed.
