Athena Crisis Pocket is Nakazawa Tech's turn-based strategy game Athena Crisis, played on a PSP. Two armies buy units at their HQs, barracks, factories, airbases and shipyards, capture houses for funds, and fight until one side loses its HQ or its last unit.

The rules and the AI are Athena Crisis's own: its open-source code ported to Rust and checked against the original action by action. In 400 games the original AI played against itself, 200 of them under fog of war, every move, attack and decision of the port came out the same.

31 units fight on land, at sea and in the air, from infantry and tanks to landers, battleships, helicopters and bombers. Fog of war can be switched on before a match: units see only around themselves, forests hide what stands in them, and a move can run into an enemy it could not see.

The four maps are this port's own: Meadow Crossing, River Fork, Salt Coast and Twin Isles, the last two with shores, piers and shipyards. The match is kept at the start of each of your turns, and Continue on the title picks it up again.

The board is drawn by the PSP's GPU at 60 frames a second with the original art at its own size, and the menus are a PocketJS interface drawn over it. The sound effects and music of this version are synthesized stand-ins for the original recordings.
