Pocket Ethertum is Ethertum, Dreamtowards' open-source voxel sandbox of smooth terrain, on an engine of its own. The world is the original's world: the same islands, caves, trees and grass, generated and meshed on the device and checked bit for bit against the original's own source.

You start in the air over the sea. Fly between the floating islands, land on them, dig into the hills and build with the brush: a sphere or a cube of any of the original's materials, as large as you set it. The day turns, and the sun's shadows fall through the tree crowns onto the ground.

The light follows the original's: each face takes the sky picture's light from where it faces, the sun's light where the sun reaches it, and one curve that stands for the original's tone map. The sea is a mirror of the islands and the sky, blue where the original's fog lies on it.

On a PS Vita it draws 960 × 544 at 60 frames a second with a GXM renderer of its own: the sun's shadows, the sea's reflection and the leaf cards in two samples a pixel. In a browser it draws the same pack with a WebGPU renderer of its own, in a PS Vita's shell whose keys are the controls. A mod of your own runs on the PS Vita, where the game's mods run in QuickJS.

The source is GPL-3.0, as the original's is: github.com/pocket-nexus/pocket-ethertum. The sky picture is from Poly Haven (CC0).
